Hot! Hot! Hot! Dutch Ovens & ANOTHER $40 CSN Gift Card Giveaway @ Ten Talents!

So....I want to tell you a little story about my husband.  He believes in me.  He really, really believes in me.  A little too much sometimes :)  For example, he likes to find things online that he thinks I know how to use and a good bit of the time I don't even know what the things are.  Take a Dutch Oven, for example.  He was checking out a deal site the other day, and he found one for a good price, so he suggested that I buy one.  I didn't even know WHAT IT WAS, much less how to use it.  Well, out of my great, great love for him, instead of throwing something at him for suggesting that I buy something because "his Mom has one and she cooks lots of good stuff in it", I checked them out :)  And...I think a Dutch Oven might actually be something I could benefit from owning.  Sigh...what can you do when your husband is right?  :)

Because I'm still unsure how to choose one though, I'd like to center this giveaway around Dutch ovens and get a little help from you guys!  So...the MANDATORY ENTRY will be to visit THIS CSN STORES SITE and choose which Dutch oven I should buy!  Here's the fun part...ON 8/29 @ 8 PM EST (24 hours before this giveaway ends) I will choose the ONE that I like best from all suggestions and that person will win ten extra entries into the giveaway.  So...choose wisely :)  If there are multiple suggestions of the same Dutch Oven, then I will choose the person who suggested the winning oven first!  So...if you are really interested in winning those extra entries, choose wisely AND quickly :)

MANDATORY ENTRY:
Visit CSN STORES HERE and choose which Dutch Oven is the right one for me!

emerilware cast iron would be a good choice, I have a cast iron dutch oven and use it all the time, besides this one is less than $50 with free shipping

clynsg said...

I would suggest the Kinetic Classicor 5.5 Qt Dutch oven. It is reasonably priced and made of stainless steel. I think you will find the Dutch oven is a great pan to have. I have 2, 1 a stainless steel that I really can't remember where I got it, and another (Cephalon 5.5 qt) which came with a set that my daughter gave me for Christmas several years ago. Believe me, neither cost the unreal prices on some of those pans! Even the whole set from my daughter would have been reasonable, but that was more than likely because she was the manager of the store, they were clearing out stock and she used her company discount!

Because Of the size, I think it would be most versatile. Plus I like to have a clear lid.

I am going to say the Bayou Classic 4 Quart Dutch Oven - 7400. From experience, cast iron cookware tends to be more durable for decades of use, and 4 quarts should be large enough for most families.

A Dutch Oven is great to have, but you won't use it all the time, so I think it's silly to spend more than necessary for it. The Calphalon ONE Infused Anodized 5 Quart Dutch Oven with Lid - DRL8785P looks great, is a good size and has a reasonable price tag of $79.95.

I'd go for this one: http://www.cookware.com/Le-Creuset-M09GS4-31-LEC2057.html

Reason 1: I have a 5.5 quart Martha Stewart dutch oven and it is just slightly too big. I use it at least once a week, though (and more often in the winter)!!

Reason 2: Everybody has red or blue. Get black. Be different!

Reason 3: It's currently on super duper sale and you get two casserole dishes with the deal! :)

I actually own and love this one: http://www.cookware.com/All-Clad-LD3500-AAC1122.html It is so worth the money. Because of the rounded shape, I can also use it to stir fry. It's great for frying up a large portion of something as well. It works well for making chicken, too. I've had it for over year and use it at least, once a week. It still looks new. The pot is very well made, handles are sturdy, and lid isn't flimsy.

I would go with the All Clad LTD2 5.5 qt. Looks like you would have the versatility of oven or stove. All the prices seem high, you might want to look elsewhere to get one better priced and if you find it useful for your needs you could then invest in a better quality Dutch Oven.

You can cook almost anything you want to in a Dutch Oven. If you can cover it and bake it, then you can cook it on top of the stove in a Dutch Oven or you can bake in the oven with it. Food is always so very, very, tender and tasty. I recommend that you try one. You will love it!
