Strange Things I'm Afraid of....and a Review of a Unique Product!

I have at least two fears that I know are strange.
1) Touching coins.  I really have some sort of phobia about this, and I know it's weird, but I hate to have coins in my hand.  It actually gives me the heebie jeebies if I think about it too much.  It's not the actual coins that bother me.  It's the smell they leave on your hands...yuck, yuck, yuck.
2) Bleach.  I am ashamed to admit this, but I haven't used bleach in the four years we've been married and I don't know how long before that. I hate the stuff.  It smells like it will take your skin off on contact.  There are so many chemicals in it, that I'm not sure it won't.  So...I haven't used it for many, many years...UNTIL TODAY!

When ecoSTORE USA contacted me to ask if I'd be interested in doing a review of their natural products, I was excited to see what they sell.  I was SUPER excited when I saw that one of their products is a Pure Oxygen Whitener with NO NASTY CHEMICALS!  I was starting to feel guilty about all of the once white, now gray clothes we have around here :)  I didn't know anyone made natural bleaches using plant-based ingredients that are safe to use...and that don't smell like bleach!

ecoSTORE USA is "an extension of a 20 year old New Zealand company that makes plant based, non-toxic Household Cleaning, Baby and Personal Care Products that contain No Nasty Chemicals™." In other words, they've been around for a while and they offer products that I can use around my little lady without worrying that they will harm her (or us!).  It's still advisable that you take care when using these products, but I'm so thankful that there is an alternative to harsh chemicals.

Since I haven't used bleach in years, I wasn't even sure how to use this Pure Oxygen Whitener, but it was surprisingly easy.  If you've got really tough stains, you can soak your clothes in it overnight, but I wanted to see how well this would work in a normal wash since we don't always have time to soak clothes overnight.  This stuff is super concentrated, so I was able to use less than normal, which means this will probably last me the next 5 years!  If you're washing the clothes by machine, you simply dissolve 1 to 2 tablespoons (I used 2 since the clothes haven't ever been bleached before!) in water and add it to the wash.  It was that easy!

Here's the BEFORE pic of the clothes (not sure you can see how gray they are, but trust me...they are super gray because my husband works construction and gets things about as dirty as possible).  I suppose these pics give "airing your dirty laundry" a whole new meaning...never thought I'd be sharing pics like this on the internet :)

And here's what they looked like AFTER:

I know it's super hard to tell by looking at these pics, but they really did look different after!  I especially noticed a difference in the few new items I had in there.  They were gleaming white!  For the older items, I think I would try the soaking method next time to give the product more time to work on the old stains and overall gray look.

You can buy a selection of ecoSTORE USA products at Meijer and DuaneReade stores, or you can order online HERE.  Shipping is FREE for all orders $25 and over.  ecoSTORE USA isn't just a household cleaning products store.  They also specialize in Baby care, Bath & Body, and Hair.  They even have Pet Care products, so be sure to check them out if you're looking for products that are safe to use with your beloved furry friends.

Again, since their products are super concentrated, they will last such a long time, and they have good prices too!  The Pure Oxygen Whitener is only $12, and, as I said before, this will probably last me for a few years because you don't have to use much for it to be effective!

I'll be reviewing their Sleepytime Bath Baby product next, so keep an eye out for that later this week!

Great review. I am going to have to look into trying this stuff. We use bleach for everything in my house and I have been wanting to find a better product to use.

I like products that are concentrate as it truly helps stretch that dollar. Will have to check out the products on the site! Thanks for the heads up!

I avoid bleach, but as my kids get messier and messier I need it. I'll definitely have to look at their pet products too.

As soon as I starting reading your comments about hating to have coins in your hands I thought - egh- i hate they way they make your hands smell. low and behold... great minds... LOL

I am very impressed with how white that Old Navy polo looks! This may be one to put on the list of things to try.

oh yeah I can see the difference, I never use bleach either, I'm afraid of ruining everything. I see a coloured stripe on that shirt and noticed that it retained it's colour nicely. I never know how to brighten whites when there are other colours involved. great product!

i see a difference too!! when i have to strip our diapers i use non oxygen bleach. i used to not feel like my house was clean unless i could smell bleach. ugh. that was before kids, and before i got obsessed about all the chemicals we used unthinkingly- unknowingly?
